Easter Schedule 2018

Dear friends, Holy Week is a very special opportunity for all of us to remember how far our Lord's love for us goes--all the way to a sacrificial death on a cross,... and on to resurrection! We invite you and your family to join us for special worship opportunities this week. We hope you will be able to be with us as we worship the Lord!

Holy Thursday: (March 29)

7:30 p.m. - Worship with Holy Communion remembering Jesus' last supper with His disciples. (Also, "First Communion" for some of our youth.)

Good Friday: (March 30)

7:30 p.m. - Meaningful worship service (partially bilingual) focusing on Jesus' death on the cross and its significance for us.

Easter Sunday: (April 1)

7:30 a.m. - Early Morning Service of Easter Light in the church with candles.
8:30 a.m. - Breakfast available in the gym (free will donation)
10:00 a.m. - Easter Festival Worship (partially bilingual) with special music. Followed by cascarones and an Easter treat for the children. Come join the celebration!

A Huge Rummage Sale benefitting our St. Paul Child Development Center will be held in our gym Saturday, March 3, 9:00-3:00. We are filling the gym with great bargains for everyone! We appreciate all the support we can get. Come and participate and help spread the word! For more information call the church at 210-532-7341

Ash Wednesday and Lent

Wednesday, February 14, is “Ash Wednesday” for us and for many Christians around the world... the first day of the special season of LENT in which we focus on the love of Christ our Savior displayed in his life, death, and resurrection... as well as in our lives today. We will observe Ash Wednesday with two special worship opportunities: the first at 11:00 a.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. in the church.

Both will include the ceremony of ashes (a symbol of our need for the Lord’s merciful love and help in our lives), and the evening service will also include Holy Communion (it will also be somewhat bilingual). Some of the children of our Child Development Center will also participate in the morning service.

Before the evening service, from 6:15 to 7:20, we will have a light supper of soups, salads, and sandwiches in the Fellowship Room. All are invited to come for some food and fellowship before our worship. If you would be in a position to bring food to contribute, please do so; if not, just come anyway (for many it may be sort of a rush after work).

During the remaining season of Lent this year we will have two other special midweek worship opportunities before coming to HolyWeek. These will be informal and will be held Wednesday, February 28 and March 14...both preceded by a light supper. The March 14 service will include some built-in prayer time (instead of having a separate Prayer Vigil this year.) (Prayer requests for that night can be turned in at church or emailed to Pastor Carlos.) Lent is a special season for us to focus on Jesus and our relationship with him... he who then calls us to trust and follow him in serving the people around us each day.

  • 7:30PM - Lenton Worship Service

Wednesday, March14
