Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday!

Ash Wednesday is the Wednesday! It is the first day of the special season of Lent in which we focus on Jesus sacrificial love for us. We will have worship opportunities at both 11:00 in the morning and 7:30 at night, with a light supper at 6:15 PM in the fellowship room. Our child Development Center children will be involved in the briefer morning service. Ashes will be used in both services. The evening service will include Holy Communion and will be somewhat bilingual. The 6:15 supper will be soups, salads, and sandwiches. All are invited! [Note: During this season of Lent we will have an additional informal midweek worship opportunity following a light supper on Wednesday, March 23… so mark your calendar! And don’t forget out Prayer Vigil on Friday, April 8.]

On Saturday, January 22, all are invited to the Kolb’s ranch near Floresville for our annual “Christmas Tree Burning Party”. This is a fun event that is also meaningful. The light of the fire will remind us about Jesus, the “Light of the World”. If you have one, you are invited to bring out your used Christmas tree. Bring wieners and marshmallows for roasting over the fire... plus your own fixings and drinks. People are invited to start gathering about 4:00. For directions or more information contact the church office at 210-532-7341
