On Sunday, January 22, we will have with us at St. Paul for our worship and Bible Class our two new staff for LINC San Antonio, Rev. Ely Prieto and Hannah Shoup!! Pastor Prieto, who is native to Brazil and speaks Portugese, English, and Spanish, will preach in both services, and both Ely and Hannah will lead a special Bible Class time at 10:30 sharing the exciting things that are happening through the ministry of LINC San Antonio... a ministry that we at St. Paul are also a part of. Please make plans to be with us for worship and Bible class that day! LINC San Antonio is a new mission effort supported by area congregations, individuals, our Texas District, and other groups with the goal of reaching out in creative ways with the love and message of Jesus to the diverse population of our urban area and encouraging the development of new ministries. From St. Paul Allison Boerger, Alva-Alicia Cardenas, and Pastor Carlos have been serving on the LINC SA Leadership Team. On January 22 we will have a special door offering for all who would like to make a contribution to this exciting mission.

Festival of the Kings January 8, 2012

“Festival of the Kings” / ”Fiesta de los Reyes Magos”
On Sunday, January 8, while we will follow our regular schedule of two services at 9:00 and 11:30, the 11:30 service at St. Paul will be a special (somewhat bilingual) festival service as we remember the coming of the Wise Men to worship the baby Jesus.  Mark your calendar.  This is a special opportunity to invite friends to join us for worship. It’s also a great time to spend together! After the 11:30 service we will have a pot luck meal together, along with a piñata and baloons for the children. Put that date on your calendar. Please be with us!!

New Years Eve and New Year’s Day 2011-2012

As is true for Christmas, New Year’s Eve/Day also fall on the weekend this year! In keeping with our past tradition we are offering the opportunity for all who are interested to join us at the church Saturday evening, December 31, any time after 7:30 for an informal “family style” New Year’s Eve gathering in the Fellowship Room. It will be a relaxing time together for which you are invited to bring any snacks, refreshments, and favorite games that you would like to bring. It will also include a brief devotional time in the church about 9:00.
On Sunday morning, New Year’s Day, we will follow the same schedule we did on Christmas day, having a single, combined 10:30 a.m. Worship Service with a New Year’s emphasis (which blessedly happens to fall also in our Christmas season!). There is no better way to begin the new year that by focusing on our Lord and sharing his gifts together! Once again on that day we will have no Sunday School or Bible Classes... but there will be a children’s message as always.
