Wednesday, February 13, is Ash Wednesday for us and for many Christians around the world... the first day of the special season of LENT in which we focus on the incredible love of Christ our Savior– love displayed in his life, death, and resurrection as well as in our lives today. We will observe Ash Wednesday with two special worship opportunities: the first at 11:00 a.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Both will include the ceremony of ashes (a symbol of our need for the Lord’s love and help in our lives), and the evening service will also include Holy Communion (it will also be somewhat bilingual).
Before the evening service, from 6:15 to 7:15, we will have a light supper of soups, salads, and sandwiches. All are invited to come for some food and fellowship before our worship. If you would be in a position to bring food to contribute, please do so; if not, just come anyway (for many it may be sort of a rush after work).
Wednesday February 27 we will have one other special MIDWEEK WORSHIP opportunity before coming to Holy Week. This informal worship opportunity will give allow us to sing some of the familiar lenten hymns and also to focus on God’s message to us. It will start at 7:30 p.m., and will follow a light supper of soups, sandwiches, and salads at 6:15 (like our Ash Wednesday schedule).
Friday, March 22, 5:00 - 10:00 p.m., we will have another FIVE HOUR PRAYER VIGIL at St. Paul... a special opportunity to spend silent prayer time in the presence of our Lord and in prayer for many who are seeking our prayers. (We will be gathering prayer requests in preparation for that event.) This is another way the Lord involves us in what HE is doing! All are Invited.

Our annual Valentine Making Party will be held Sunday, February 10, at the home of Judy and Bruce, 2923 Green Run at 4:00 p.m. It includes a supper. You are encouraged to come out and help make valentines (which we send to our homebound, hospitalized, military personnel and contract personnel serving in foreign countries). We plan to enjoy fellowship and good food. This activity is for ALL AGES. It you want to help out in any way with supplies for the valentines or for supper contact the church.

Epiphany - January 6, 2012

On Sunday, January 6th, while we will follow our regular schedule of two services, the 11:30 service at St Paul will be a special "combined service" as we remember the coming of the Wise Men to worship the baby Jesus. This is a special opportunity to invite friends to join us for worship. It's also a great time to spend together! After the 11:30 service, we will have a pot luck meal together, along with a pinata and balloons for the children. Put that date on your calendar. Please be with us!
