The Ringing of the Bells and The Welcome

Now All The Vault of Heaven Resounds (465)

Now all the vault of Heav'n resounds

in praise of love that still abounds:

"Christ has triumphed!  He is living!"

Sing, choirs of angels, loud and clear!

Repeat their song of glory here:

"Christ has triumphed!  Christ has triumphed!"

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Eternal is the gift he brings,

therefore our heart with rapture sings:

"Christ has triumphed!  He is living!"

Now still he comes to give us life

and by his presence stills all strife.

Christ has triumphed!  He is living!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Oh, fill us, Lord, with dauntless love;

set heart and will on things above

That we conquer through your triumph;

Grant grace sufficient for life's day

that by our lives we truly say:

"Christ has triumphed!  He is living!"

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Adoring praises now we bring

and with the heav'nly blessed sing:

"Christ has triumphed!  Alleluia!"

Be to the Father and our Lord,

to Spirit blest, most holy God,

All the glory, never ending!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Invocation and Opening Sentences

Pastor:           En el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo.

People:          Amen.

Confession and Forgiveness

Pastor:           If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

People:          But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Pastor:           Let us then confess our sins to God our Father:

People:          Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

Pastor:           Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

People:         Amen.

The Prayer of the Day

Pastor:           The Lord be with you.

People:          And also with you.

Pastor:           Let us pray

People:          God, our refuge and strength, bring near the day when wars shall cease and poverty and pain shall end, that earth may know the peace of heaven through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

1 Kings 17:8-16

The word of the Lord came to him: Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow to supply you with food.” So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?’ As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.” “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread; only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’” She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.  For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

Reader:          This is the Word of the Lord.

People:          Thanks be to God!

Hebrews 9:24-28

For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.  Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.  Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,  so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Reader:          This is the Word of the Lord.

People:          Thanks be to God

Mark 12:38-44

As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.  They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

Pastor:            This is the Gospel of the Lord.

People:          Praise to You, O Christ.

The Apostle’s Creed

    I believe in God, the Father Almighty maker of heaven and earth.

    And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of  the body, and the life everlasting.

Kid Sermon

Sermon Hymn: Holy, Holy, Holy (507)

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!

God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,

Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,

Which wert and art and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,

Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,

Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,

Perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea.

Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!

God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

The Prayers of the Church

(After Lord in Your Mercy all respond with Hear our Prayer)

Prayer Song: Eres Todopoderoso

La única razón de mi adoración eres tú mi Jesús...

Mi único motivo para vivir eres tú mi Señor...

Mi única verdad está en ti, Eres mi luz y mi salvación...

Mi único amor eres tu, Señor, y por siempre te alabaré...

Tú eres todo–poderoso, eres grande y majestuoso;

Eres fuerte, invensible, y no hay nadie como tú...  (Repeat)

The Service of the Sacrament

Pastor:            The Lord be with you.

People:          And also with you.

Pastor:            Lift up your hearts.

People:          We lift them to the Lord.

Pastor:            Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People:         It is right to give Him thanks and praise.

Pastor:            It is truly right, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give You thanks, holy Father, eternal God. From sunrise to sunset this day is holy, for Christ has risen from the tomb and has scattered the darkness of death with light that will not fade. The risen Lord walks with us and makes himself known in the breaking of the bread. And though the night will overtake the day, you summon us to live in endless light, the unending Sabbath of the Lord. So, with choirs of angels and with the heavenly host, we proclaim your glory!

People:         Amen!

The Prayer of Thanksgiving

Pastor:           Blessed are You, Lord of heaven and earth, for You have had mercy on those whom You created and sent Your only-begotten Son into our flesh to bear our sin and be our Savior. With repentant joy, we receive the salvation accomplished for us by the all-availing sacrifice of His body and His blood on the cross. Gathered in the name and the remembrance of Jesus, we beg You, O Lord, to forgive, renew, and strengthen us with Your Word and Spirit. Grant us to faithfully eat His body and drink His blood as He bids us to in His own testament. Gather us together from the ends of the earth to celebrate, with all the faithful, the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom, which has no end. Receive our prayers; deliver and preserve us. To You alone be all glory, honor, and worship, now and forever. Amen!

The Lamb of God

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

grant us peace.

The Consecration

The Acclamation and The Invitation

Pastor:           As often as we eat of this bread and drink from this cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again.

People:          Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

Pastor:           Behold the Lamb of God, behold Jesus who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

People:          Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.

The Blessing

Recessional Hymn: Alleluia Sing To Jesus (821)

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus; His the scepter, His the throne;

Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone.

Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion Thunder like a mighty flood:

"Jesus out of ev'ry nation Has redeemed us by His blood."

Alleluia! Not as orphans Are we left in sorrow now;

Alleluia! He is near us; Faith believes, nor questions how.

Though the cloud from sight received Him

When the forty days were o'er,

Shall our hearts forget His promise:"I am with you evermore"?

Alleluia! Bread of heaven, Here on earth our food, our stay;

Alleluia! Here the sinful Flee to You from day to day.

Intercessor, Friend of sinners,

Earth's Redeemer, hear our plea

Where the songs of all the sinless

Sweep across the crystal sea.

Alleluia! King eternal, Lord omnipotent we own;

Alleluia! Born of Mary,

Earth Your footstool, heav'n Your throne.

As within the veil You entered,

Robed in flesh, our great High Priest,

Here on earth both priest and victim In the eucharistic feast.

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus; His the scepter, His the throne;

Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone.

Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion Thunder like a mighty flood:

"Jesus out of ev'ry nation Has redeemed us by His blood."
