The Ringing of the Bells and The Welcome

Processional: I Want To Walk as Child of the Light (411)

I want to walk as a child of the light. I want to follow Jesus.

God set the stars to give light the world.

The star of my life is Jesus.

In Him there is no darkness at all.

The night and the day are both alike.

The Lamb is the light of the city of God.

Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus.

I want to see the brightness of God. I want to look at Jesus.

Clear Sun of Righteousness, shine on my path,

and show me the way to the Father.

In Him there is no darkness at all.

The night and the day are both alike.

The Lamb is the light of the city of God.

Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus.

I’m looking for the coming of Christ. I want to be with Jesus.

When we have run with patience the race,

we shall know the joy of Jesus.

In Him there is no darkness at all.

The night and the day are both alike.

The Lamb is the light of the city of God.

Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus.

Invocation and Opening Sentences

Pastor:           En el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo.

People:          Amen.

Confession and Forgiveness

Pastor:           If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

People:          But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Pastor:           Let us then confess our sins to God our Father:

People:          Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

Pastor:           Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

People:         Amen.

The Prayer of the Day

Pastor:           The Lord be with you.

People:          And also with you.

Pastor:           Let us pray

People:          God of holiness, your glory is proclaimed in every age: as we rejoice in the faith of your saints, inspire us to follow their example with boldness and joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

Revelation 7:9-17

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne,

and to the Lamb. All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Then one of the elders asked me, These in white robes; who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, Sir, you know. And he said, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.‘Never again will they hunger;

never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes

Reader:          This is the Word of the Lord.

People:          Thanks be to God!

1 John 3:1-3

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.

Reader:          This is the Word of the Lord.

People:          Thanks be to God

Matthew 5:1-12

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Pastor:            This is the Gospel of the Lord.

People:          Praise to You, O Christ.

The Apostle’s Creed

    I believe in God, the Father Almighty maker of heaven and earth.

    And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of  the body, and the life everlasting.

Kid Sermon

Sermon Hymn: Alleluia Hearts To Heaven (477)

Alleluia, alleluia! Hearts to heav’n and voices raise:

Sing to God a hymn of gladness,

Sing to God a hymn of praise;

He who on the cross a victim For the world’s salvation bled— Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, Now is risen from the dead.

Alleluia, Christ is risen! Death at last has met defeat:

See the ancient pow’rs of evil In confusion and retreat;

Once He died, and once was buried:

Now He lives forevermore,

Jesus Christ, the world’s Redeemer,

Whom we worship and adore.

Alleluia, alleluia! Glory be to God on high:

Alleluia to the Savior, Who has gained the victory;

Alleluia to the Spirit, Fount of love and sanctity!

Alleluia, alleluia To the triune Majesty!

The Prayers of the Church

(After Lord in Your Mercy all respond with Hear our Prayer)

Prayer Song: Padre Nuestro

Padre Nuestro, que estás en el Cielo

Santificado, santificado sea tu nombre

Padre nuestro....

The Service of the Sacrament

Pastor:            The Lord be with you.

People:          And also with you.

Pastor:            Lift up your hearts.

People:          We lift them to the Lord.

Pastor:            Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People:         It is right to give Him thanks and praise.

Pastor:            It is truly right, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give You thanks, holy Father, eternal God. From sunrise to sunset this day is holy, for Christ has risen from the tomb and has scattered the darkness of death with light that will not fade. The risen Lord walks with us and makes himself known in the breaking of the bread. And though the night will overtake the day, you summon us to live in endless light, the unending Sabbath of the Lord. So, with choirs of angels and with the heavenly host, we proclaim your glory!

People:         Amen!

The Prayer of Thanksgiving

Pastor:           Blessed are You, Lord of heaven and earth, for You have had mercy on those whom You created and sent Your only-begotten Son into our flesh to bear our sin and be our Savior. With repentant joy, we receive the salvation accomplished for us by the all-availing sacrifice of His body and His blood on the cross. Gathered in the name and the remembrance of Jesus, we beg You, O Lord, to forgive, renew, and strengthen us with Your Word and Spirit. Grant us to faithfully eat His body and drink His blood as He bids us to in His own testament. Gather us together from the ends of the earth to celebrate, with all the faithful, the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom, which has no end. Receive our prayers; deliver and preserve us. To You alone be all glory, honor, and worship, now and forever. Amen!

The Lamb of God

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

grant us peace.

The Consecration

The Acclamation and The Invitation

Pastor:           As often as we eat of this bread and drink from this cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again.

People:          Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

Pastor:           Behold the Lamb of God, behold Jesus who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

People:          Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.

The Blessing

Recessional Hymn: For All the Saints (677)

For all the saints who from their labors rest,

Who Thee by faith before the world confessed,

Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou wast their rock, their fortress, and their might;

Thou, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight;

Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true light.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Oh, blest communion, fellowship divine!

We feebly struggle, they in glory shine;

Yet all are one in Thee, for all are Thine. Alleluia! Alleluia!

And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long,

Steals on the ear the distant triumph song,

And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

But lo, there breaks a yet more glorious day;

The saints triumphant rise in bright array;

The King of glory passes on His way. Alleluia! Alleluia!

From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,

Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,

Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost: Alleluia! Alleluia!
