The Ringing of the Bells and The Welcome

Opening Hymn: holy, Holy, Holy (507)

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!

God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,

Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,

Which wert and art and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,

Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,

Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,

Perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea.

Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!

God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Isaiah 6:1-8

1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord. He was sitting on his throne, high and exalted, and his robe filled the whole Temple. 2 Around him flaming creatures were standing, each of which had six wings. Each creature covered its face with two wings, and its body with two, and used the other two for flying. 3 They were calling out to each other: “Holy, holy, holy!  The Lord Almighty is holy!  His glory fills the world.”  4 The sound of their voices made the foundation of the Temple shake, and the Temple itself was filled with smoke. 5 I said, “There is no hope for me! I am doomed because every word that passes my lips is sinful, and I live among a people whose every word is sinful. And yet, with my own eyes, I have seen the King, the Lord Almighty!”  6 Then one of the creatures flew down to me, carrying a burning coal that he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. 7 He touched my lips with the burning coal and said, “This has touched your lips, and now your guilt is gone, and your sins are forgiven.”  8 Then I heard the Lord say, “Whom shall I send? Who will be our messenger?” I answered, “I will go! Send me!”

Reader:          This is the Word of the Lord.

People:           Thanks be to God!

Acts 2:14a, 22-23, 32-33, 36

14 Then Peter stood up with the other eleven apostles and in a loud voice began to speak to the crowd:... 22 “Listen to these words, fellow-Israelites! Jesus of Nazareth was a man whose divine authority was clearly proven to you by all the miracles and wonders which God performed through him. You yourselves know this, for it happened here among you. 23 In accordance with his own plan God had already decided that Jesus would be handed over to you; and you killed him by letting sinful men crucify him....32God has raised this very Jesus from death, and we are all witnesses to this fact. 33He has been raised to the right-hand side of God, his Father, who, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.... 36 “All the people of Israel, then, are to know for sure that this Jesus, whom you crucified, is the one that God has made Lord and Messiah!”

Reader:           This is the Word of the Lord.

People:           Thanks be to God!

John 3:1-17

1 There was a Jewish leader named Nicodemus, who belonged to the party of the Pharisees. 2One night he went to Jesus and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent by God. No one could perform the miracles you are doing unless God were with him.” 3Jesus answered, “I am telling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again.” 4 “How can a grown man be born again?” Nicodemus asked. “He certainly cannot enter his mother’s womb and be born a second time!” 5“I am telling you the truth,” replied Jesus. “No one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6A person is born physically of human parents, but is born spiritually of the Spirit. 7Do not be surprised because I tell you that you must all be born again. 8The wind blows wherever it wishes; you hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. It is like that with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9 “How can this be?” asked Nicodemus. 10 Jesus answered, “You are a great teacher in Israel, and you don’t know this? 11I am telling you the truth: we speak of what we know and report what we have seen, yet none of you is willing to accept our message. 12You do not believe me when I tell you about the things of this world; how will you ever believe me, then, when I tell you about the things of heaven? 13And no one has ever gone up to heaven except the Son of Man, who came down from heaven.” 14 As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the desert, in the same way the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 16For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.

Pastor:             This is the Gospel of the Lord.

People:           Praise to You, O Christ.

The Holy baptism of Aspyn and HAdleigh

The Nicene Creed

     I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And of all things visible and invisible.

     And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father.  And he will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.

     And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.  And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.  Amen.

Kids Sermon

Sermon Hymn: Be Unto Your Name

We are a moment. You are forever.

Lord of the ages, God before time.

We are a vapor. You are eternal. Love everlasting, reigning on high

Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.

Highest praises, honor and glory be unto Your name...

Be unto Your name.

We are the broken. You are the healer.

Jesus Redeemer, mighty to save.

You are the love song we’ll sing forever.

Bowing before you, blessing Your name.

Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.

Highest praises, honor and glory be unto Your name

Be unto Your name.  (chorus repeated)

The Lords Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen

Prayer Song: Eres Todopoderoso

La única razón de mi adoración eres tú mi Jesús...

Mi único motivo para vivir eres tú mi Señor...

Mi única verdad está en ti, Eres mi luz y mi salvación...

Mi único amor eres tu, Señor, y por siempre te alabaré...

Tú eres todo–poderoso, eres grande y majestuoso;

Eres fuerte, invensible, y no hay nadie como tú...

Jesus, my worship is all about you, you are the source of my hope;

Jesus, my living is rooted in you, you are the source of my life.

My only truth is found in you, O Lord,

You are my light and you set me free;

The greatest love I have is you, O Lord,

and forever my praises I’ll give...

For you are holy, you’re almighty,

yet your grace is revealed in all that you do!

Yours’ the power and the glory, and there’s noone equal to you..!

Service of the Sacrament

Pastor:             The Lord be with you.

People:           And also with you.

Pastor:             Lift up your hearts.

People:           We lift them to the Lord.

Pastor:             Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People:          It is right to give Him thanks and praise.

Pastor:             It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, always and everywhere to give you thanks, holy Father, almighty and eternal God. For with your only-begotten Son and the Holy Spirit you are one God, one Lord. We, your holy Church, acclaim you, Father of majesty unbounded, your true and only Son, worthy of all worship, and the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide. Three Persons we adore, one in being and equal in majesty. And so with angels and archangels, with cherubim and seraphim, we speak forever of your glory:

People:          Amen!

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Blessed are You, Lord of heaven and earth, for You have had mercy on those whom You created and sent Your only-begotten Son into our flesh to bear our sin and be our Savior. With repentant joy, we receive the salvation accomplished for us by the all-availing sacrifice of His body and His blood on the cross. Gathered in the name and the remembrance of Jesus, we beg You, O Lord, to forgive, renew, and strengthen us with Your Word and Spirit. Grant us to faithfully eat His body and drink His blood as He bids us to in His own testament. Gather us together from the ends of the earth to celebrate, with all the faithful, the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom, which has no end. Receive our prayers; deliver and preserve us. To You alone be all glory, honor, and worship, now and forever. Amen.

Lamb of God

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world;

grant us peace.

Post-Communion Prayer

We give thanks to You, almighty God, that You have refreshed us through this salutary gift, and we implore You, that of Your mercy, You would strengthen us in faith toward You and in fervent love toward one another; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Closing Hymn: Go My Children with My Blessing (922)

Go, my children, with my blessing, never alone;

waking, sleeping I am with you, you are my own.

In my love’s baptismal river I have made you mine forever,

Go, my children, with my blessing.  You are my own.

Go, my children, sins forgiven, at peace and pure.

Here you learned how much I love you.  What I can cure.

Here you heard my Son’s dear story,

here you touched him, saw his glory;

Go, my children, sins forgiven, at peace and pure.

Go, my children, fed and nourished, closer to me;

Grow in love and love by serving, joyful and free.

Here my Spirit’s power filled you,

here his tender comfort stilled you;

Go, my children, fed and nourished, joyful and free.

I the Lord will bless and keep you, and give you peace.

I the Lord will smile upon you, and give you peace;

I the Lord will be your Father, Savior, Comforter and Brother;

Go, my children, I will keep you and give you peace.

The Blessing
